Paige Salters

Clinical Intern

I am a final-year MSW student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and clinical social work intern at Jubilee Healing Farm. In my training, I ground my approach to therapeutic work with an unwavering belief that every client is inherently resourced with the wisdom necessary to unburden themselves from structures of oppression that mandate our movement away from wellness, embodiment, and audacious commitment to our most intimate values. A student of many fields of thought, I’m developing a person-centered and holistic approach that invites the understanding that our suffering manifests in mind, body, and spirit – each requiring thoughtful attention. I draw from my lived experience as a first-generation, queer, working-class, Black arrivant, who has historically been disenfranchised from land as a means of healing.
As a social work intern, I’m supported in this mission by a robust team of supervisors, therapists, and my unique practice and personal experience to guide clients in uncovering their ambitions and clarifying the resources necessary to maintain and bolster their commitments to themselves and their wider communities. When I’m not contemplating the ways we move to be in right relationship, I am likely cooing at local flora and fauna, enjoying a long cup of coffee with my partner and friends, or romping around with my animals: Bea, a 2-year-old Pit-Dalmatian Mix, and Wilson, a fearless and boundaried 4-year-old orange shorthair.
