Our nature-based approach allows you to refocus and get to the root of your addictions.
A nature-based practice can be an effective supplement to traditional treatments for behavioral addictions. Compulsive behaviors are frequently the result of or aggravated by dysregulation in the emotional and neurological systems. Nature, with its peaceful, nonjudgmental presence and rich sensory environment, has a unique ability to soothe these systems, offering individuals a grounded alternative to their addictive routines.
At Jubilee, our approach follows the thought that immersion in natural surroundings reduces stress, anxiety, and rumination, all of which can feed behavioral addictions. Spending time on our farm may help reduce cortisol levels and activate the parasympathetic nervous system, allowing you to regain balance. When battling behavioral addictions, this can imply fewer cravings and better mental clarity to make deliberate decisions. Nature-based activities also encourage mindfulness, which is essential for identifying triggers and establishing resilience in the face of cravings.
Spending time in nature can also help you rediscover your feeling of purpose and connection. Many people trapped in cycles of addiction feel alienated and estranged from themselves and others. Nature-based practices promote a sense of belonging to something bigger. Nature, in this sense, provides a road to self-restoration, greater awareness, and long-term behavioral change, rather than simply an escape from destructive activities.
