Drew Dockery
LCMHCA
Having lived both in the U.S. and abroad, I’m familiar with the unpredictability of life and the importance of having tools that help us tell our story and build resilience. I am open to clients experiencing a wide range of concerns and have experience addressing challenges related to depression, anxiety, ADHD, religious trauma, family conflict, relationship challenges, and PTSD.
I am a graduate of the masters of counselor education program at East Carolina University and am a licensed clinical mental health counselor associate in North Carolina. My therapy style draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques to help clients stay grounded in the present, clarify their values, and actively pursue the life they want. I welcome clients in non-monogamous or other non-traditional relationship structures. My approach is informed by feminist therapy practices, and I intentionally bring this perspective into my work.
In addition to working with individuals, I enjoy supporting families using the framework of Bowen’s Family Systems Therapy. This approach helps families identify their strengths and develop communication skills so that they can better navigate challenges together.
Working at Jubilee offers a unique natural setting for therapy, and I would love to discuss with you how nature can support the healing process.
In my free time, I enjoy swimming in the Eno River, making jam, doing yoga, and obsessing over mid-century modern furniture.
